Laying the Bedrock
CEO Michael Indelicato began a business venture selling gold chains, jewelry, and gems, and founded Rochester Diamonds Incorporated out of his mother’s basement.
1991
All in the Family
Sara Indelicato, Michael’s sister, joined the company as its resident trained Gemologist.
1992
A Foundation of Excellence
The company found its stride. Rochester Diamonds Incorporated became RDI Diamonds®, and moved to downtown Rochester’s historic Sibley Building.
1993
Sharper Focus
As their business grew, the company focus shifted to exclusively providing quality wholesale diamonds.
1994 – 2004
A Decade of Growth
RDI Diamonds® established itself as one of the leading diamond wholesalers in the nation, and cultivated an international reputation for professional, personalized customer care.

Lifetime Trade-Up
RDI Introduces our Lifetime Trade-up program, a first in the diamond wholesale industry.

Recognized in Inc. 500 America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies, RDI Diamonds® served more than 2,000 retailers nationwide.
2013
A New Connection
RDI Diamonds ® launched the proprietary Mobile Diamond Connection®, ramping up and strengthening sales performances for its customers.
2015
A Larger Location
Extensive trade shows, new technological advances, and a rapidly expanding team necessitated a move to a larger office space.

Our new office location in the Gem Tower in New York, New York.
